Surf & Turf by Soul Kitchen
Surf & Turf by Soul Kitchen is a small Thai-German-owned restaurant on Phang Nga Road in Phuket Town that received a Bib Gourmand from the Michelin Guide. The menu is short but changes monthly, and Chef Tom takes great pride in composing European-Thai dishes, including some vegetarian options. Each plate is beautifully presented, and the food tastes delicious without being overly sophisticated.
The restaurant is small and modest, and the convenient location makes it perfect for enjoying a fancy but affordable dinner once you explore Old Phuket Town. Remember that the restaurant is relatively small and very popular, so you should book in advance to avoid disappointment.
The menu is short but varied enough to please everyone, and you can select a few specialists from the daily menu on the blackboard. We tried the beef tartare with pickled shallots and cured egg yolk (320 baht), a grilled seabass beurre blanc with passion fruit and sauteed sesame spinach (270 baht), and a grilled beef salad with homemade tartare sauce (320 baht).
To give you an idea, as the menu changes regularly, the vegetarian options included the following on the day we visited: Champignon tacos (280 baht), veggie chef salad (200 baht), homemade sweet potato ravioli with yellow curry and sour cream( baht) and Thai basil risotto with edamame and lime zest (240 baht).
Surf & Turf by Soul Kitchen is very popular, especially since the restaurant received a Bib Gourmand from the Michelin Guide, so reservation is not only recommended but necessary. You should also know that the restaurant only accepts cash payments.
