The Sunset Bar is a lovely little gem on the west coast of the south peninsula of the low-key Koh Yao Noi. The bar opens at 4 pm and is very popular at sunset, offering beautiful ocean views over the coconut trees. The place is small, with a wooden terrace and colourful mattresses with triangular headrests that are so popular and convenient in Thailand.

There are a few seats at a small counter in the front, too. The most popular spot and, therefore, the hardest one to get is the bamboo platform on the side of the bar, which can only accommodate one couple. The whole bar is popular, so if you want to relax on one of the mattresses, try to come at 4 or 4.30 pm.

If you are lucky, you will be rewarded with a fantastic sunset. The team is super friendly and skilfully prepares a long list of cocktails at a very good price.

Try their signature cocktails at 220 baht only:
Twan Sunset: white rum, cherry liquor, passion fruit, orange juice, mango, and caramel syrup.
Koh Yao Sunset: mango juice, white rum and grenadine.
Stars Killer: spicy vodka, rum coco, lime and lemon juice, lemongrass, kaffir lime leaf, ginger, sugar, soda water… and chilli!
Deep Sea: blue curacao, peach liquor, vodka, pineapple, orange and coconut juice.

Then you have all the classic cocktails at 180 baht: Mojito, Moscow Mule, Caipirinha, Mai Tai, Margarita, etc. For those who prefer non-alcoholic drinks, there is a nice selection of mocktails at 120 baht per glass.

The bar is a little hard to spot from the roadside, so you will need to use Google Maps to avoid missing the small entrance.
