Pratunam Market

A Local Market in the Heart of Bangkok

Pratunam Market is one of the most chaotic and colourful shopping areas in Bangkok — and that’s exactly why people love it. It sits right next to Platinum Fashion Mall, and just a short walk from Baiyoke Tower, so it’s in the middle of everything. If you’re into bargain hunting, wholesale fashion, or just enjoy wandering through packed market lanes, this is the place to go.

The market mostly sells clothing, shoes, and accessories at some of the cheapest prices in town. A lot of it is sold in bulk, but many shops still welcome individual buyers, especially if you’re polite and don’t ask for too many discounts. I’ve often found good deals here, especially on casual clothes and streetwear, but part of the fun is just exploring. The paths between stalls are narrow, hot, and often crowded, so it’s good to come with patience and light clothes.

Outside the main market, there are also street food vendors, drink stalls, and tailors. You can easily spend an hour here before cooling off inside Platinum Mall or heading up to the Baiyoke Sky Rooftop for a drink and a view over the city. It’s busy, messy, and loud — but that’s what makes Pratunam so full of energy.
