Bangkok’s Most Trendy Dining Street
Langsuan Road in Bangkok has transformed into one of the city’s most fashionable dining streets over the past few years. Once a quiet area with offices and residences, it now features a vibrant collection of restaurants, thanks to the arrival of luxury hotels like Sindhorn Kempinski Hotel Bangkok and Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok, as well as the trendy Velaa Sindhorn Village. With more than 40 restaurants lining the street, ranging from upscale venues to hidden gems offering affordable options, Langsuan has become a must-visit destination for food lovers seeking variety and quality in the heart of Bangkok.
Baan Langsuan
Baan Langsuan is a new Thai breakfast place set in a small wooden house on Langsuan Road. The house is over 80 years old, and they kept the old Thai-style design, which gives the place a nice, relaxed feel, like visiting someone’s home. Inside, it’s full of vintage furniture, old photos, and colourful porcelain dishes, which adds to the charm. The food is classic Thai comfort dishes, mostly what people in Bangkok grew up eating.
They serve things like pan-fried eggs in a hot pan, creamy omelette with sausage on rice, and toast with pandan custard. It’s all very simple, familiar, and tasty. It’s only open for breakfast and lunch, from 7 am to 5 pm, Tuesday to Sunday, so it gets busy, especially on weekends. The whole place is small and quiet, a nice change from the usual cafés, and feels like a good spot to slow down for a while.

The Smoking Pug
The Smoking Pug on Langsuan Road is a small American BBQ restaurant that’s built a real reputation in Bangkok. It’s run by a friendly husband-and-wife team from the US who fell in love with Asia and brought their love for slow-smoked meats to the city. The place is cosy, lively, and packed most nights, so booking is a must.
People go for the ribs—tender, smoky, and full of flavour—but the brisket, burgers, and pulled pork also have a loyal following. The portions are big, the drinks strong, and the whole place has a relaxed vibe with blues music and dark wood decor. It’s casual, no dress code, just come hungry. It’s not cheap, but they focus on quality and consistency, and it shows.

Bisou
Bisou is a modern French restaurant tucked in a quiet spot on Soi Langsuan. The name means “kiss” in French, and the place does feel warm and intimate, especially at night. The restaurant serves classic French dishes with a few fun, modern touches. They have an excellent wine list too.
The dining room is stylish without being formal, with soft lighting and a beautiful spiral staircase in the middle. It’s open only for dinner, and it fills up fast, especially on weekends, so it’s better to book ahead. It’s one of those places where you can enjoy good food, wine, and music without any pressure to dress up.

Inddee
INDDEE is a new Indian fine-dining restaurant on Langsuan, located in the same house where Gaggan used to be. We remembered the building well, and it’s nice to see it still full of life. The house is over a century old, but it’s been renovated with great care. The dining rooms feel elegant but not overly formal, and the garden outside adds a quiet charm. The space has changed since the Gaggan days, but it still feels special.
INDDEE has earned a Michelin star and offers a set menu that takes you through the flavours of India, from the north to the south. Dishes are creative but rooted in tradition, and the presentation is just as impressive as the taste. We tried the kasundi cod and the chicken khurchan—both were packed with flavour and perfectly cooked.
The whole experience is refined, from the welcome to the final course. It’s a place to enjoy a quiet, sophisticated dinner, ideal for special occasions or when you feel like something memorable.

Khrua Nai Baan
Khrua Nai Baan is a long-running Thai restaurant on the lower part of Soi Langsuan, just before the street gets more polished. It doesn’t try to be trendy, and that’s part of the charm. The dining room is basic—plastic chairs, bright lights, and handwritten menus on the wall—but people come here for the food, not the look.
The menu covers all the familiar Thai favourites, and they cook them well. Dishes like green curry, stir-fried morning glory, and crispy fried fish are packed with flavour and come out fast. Prices are very reasonable, which is rare for this area, especially now that Langsuan has become one of the most expensive streets in Bangkok. It’s popular with locals, office workers, and people who’ve known the place for years. Service is straightforward, and everything feels relaxed. If you want a good Thai meal without the fancy setting or inflated prices, this is a great spot, just next to Lumphini Park.

Per Te
Per Te on Langsuan Road, just opposite Velaa Sindhorn Village, is hard to spot and I always thought it was just a small coffee shop. From the outside, it’s a tiny vintage house with an old-fashioned sign and a few decorations, easy to overlook. One day we finally walked in—and it was a surprise.
Inside, the space is full of character, with small dining areas and a charming, cosy feel. At the back, there’s a unique room set up like an old train carriage, with sky-blue clouds painted on the ceiling and soft lamps lining the walls. It’s a fun and unexpected space for groups.
The food leans classic Italian at affordable prices, and everything we tried—from the clam pasta to the grilled lamb—was well-cooked and full of flavour. It’s the kind of restaurant where the team seems to know their regulars, and we felt welcome right away. We’ll definitely go back.

Sexy Cow
Sexy Cow at Millennia Tower on Langsuan takes a more refined approach to steak house dining. It’s not casual—this place aims for an upscale feel with its fancy interiors, dim lighting, and attentive service. The name might be playful, but the experience is quite sohisticated, from the dishes presentation to the wine list.
The focus is clearly on beef, with a strong menu built around steaks and wagyu cuts, both Thai and imported. The waitress even brought a tray of six different steak knives so we could choose our own. It’s a fun touch and shows the level of detail they’re going for. We tried the wagyu ribeye and a few side dishes, and everything was well-prepared and nicely presented. The prices are higher than average. Sexy Cow feels like the kind of place for date nights or small gatherings when you’re in the mood for something special but still relaxed. It’s a new addition to the Langsuan dining scene, and one we’ll probably return to when we feel like treating ourselves.

Shiko Udon Bar
Shiko Udon Bar on Langsuan Road is a small, minimalist restaurant that specialises in handmade udon noodles. The menu features a variety of udon dishes, including both hot and cold options, with toppings like tempura, pork belly, and truffle. The noodles are made in-house and have a chewy texture that pairs well with the flavorful broths and sauces. The restaurant has a casual atmosphere, with counter seating and a few tables, making it a good spot for a quick and casual meal.
Shiko Udon Bar is open daily from 11 am to 9 pm. It’s located in front of Millennia Tower, just a short walk from Velaa Sindhorn Village.

Velaa Sindhorn Village on Langsuan Road is a stylish semi-outdoor community mall located in Bangkok’s upscale Ploenchit area. This trendy destination blends urban convenience with green spaces, offering a unique shopping and dining experience. Stretching over 300 meters, the complex features open walkways, natural ventilation, and a canopy design inspired by tree branches, creating a park-like atmosphere. Visitors can explore a variety of international restaurants, chic cafes and premium services such as Villa Market and designer boutiques.
Rongsi Potchana
Rongsi Potchana is, without a doubt, our favourite restaurant in Velaa. The food is excellent, the atmosphere lively, the service is fast, always friendly, and efficient, and the price is good considering how expensive everything is in this village. For those in the know, Rongsi is part of a group of successful Thai restaurants, including Kub Kao Kap Pla. The restaurant has a garden area where pets are welcome.

Vaso Spanish Tapas Bar
Vaso is a popular upmarket restaurant where customers sit around two central counters in two adjacent rooms to enjoy excellent tapas. Despite the high prices, the restaurant is always full, and reservations are required. There is only one table of four if you prefer to sit separately. Note that you will be seated at the counter, and your neighbour will be seated very close to you, which is not always to everyone’s taste.

Petits Plats
Petits Plats is a trendy French restaurant serving excellent cuisine for lunch and dinner. The facade seems small, but the restaurant is larger than it appears outside. KURA Premium Yakiniku and Sushi
Kura is a popular Japanese yakiniku restaurant with a vast choice of dishes, including sushi, but the main reason people go there is always the ever-popular grill place in the middle of the table where you grill your meat, veggies or seafood. It brings the yakiniku atmosphere to Bangkok, and you could think you are in Japan, especially when the team greets incoming customers with a loud ‘Irashaimase!’ (welcome!). It’s fun, tastes good and is reasonably priced; it’s a good place to share with friends.

Hoppe Coffee House
Hoppe Coffeehouse at Velaa Sindhorn Village is one of our regular go-to spots when we’re in the Langsuan area. It’s a small place with only a few tables, but the cosy atmosphere and friendly service make it stand out. The menu mixes comforting Western and Thai dishes, all well presented with clear photos that always tempt us to order more than we planned.
We usually come back for the roast chicken or the beef stew with rice, both simple but consistently satisfying. There’s also a surprisingly good wine list, with a thoughtful selection by the glass starting at 280 baht. For something more special, the bottle list is even better.
Hoppe was created by the team behind Hot Shoppe, a long-established Bangkok restaurant known for its classic comfort food and loyal following. That same spirit carries over here — good food, a relaxed atmosphere, and the kind of service that makes you feel welcome every time.

Shabu Baru
Shabu Baru is the latest restaurant in the village. It serves the ever-popular shabu in individual pots placed around a central counter instead of the usual central cooking pot shared by up to four guests. The place is beautiful, but the price is a little high, especially for meat, to compete with other shabu around town. Good to know: the cheapest meat set is the best.

El Gaucho Langsuan
El Gaucho is well known in Bangkok as the main restaurant in Sukhumvit, next to Terminal 21 Shopping Mall. This new branch has only one vast room because of the high price. The choice of cuts is immense and maybe a bit intimidating at first, so if you are unfamiliar, don’t start with the most expensive meats; it can build up very fast. Side dishes are also surprisingly expensive.

Vilas
Vilas is a refined new Thai restaurant located at Velaa Sindhorn Village on Langsuan Road. The name “Vilas” carries dual meanings: ‘from other lands’ and ‘charm and beauty,’ reflecting its concept of blending traditional Thai cuisine with global influences. It’s already drawing a full house most days, and after trying it, we understand why.
The atmosphere has a warm, elegant touch, with a splash of colour and playful energy. The long open kitchen lets you see the team in action, and the staff—dressed in matching bright aprons—add to the charm. The menu features Thai dishes inspired by regional recipes but presented with a modern approach and fine ingredients. We really enjoyed the grilled river prawns and a Shan-style tomato relish with a crispy fritter—well-balanced and full of flavour.

Tonkatsu Aoki
Tonkatsu Aoki just opened at Velaa Sindhorn Village, and it’s already packed, especially at lunch. Even though it’s new, people are lining up, and the wait for food can be 30 minutes or more during peak hours. The space is small but well-designed, with wood panelling and an open kitchen where you can see the chefs preparing each tray with care. They specialise in Japanese pork cutlets—crispy outside, juicy inside—with different cuts like hire (fillet) and rosu (loin).
Each set comes with rice, shredded cabbage, pickles, and miso soup. The coating is light and crunchy, not oily, and you can taste that they’re using good quality pork. Prices are higher than average, but the portions are very generous, and everything is done properly. Service is polite, though the kitchen clearly works hard to keep up. It’s a good stop for fans of proper tonkatsu, but best to go early or outside peak times!

I-Sang presents innovative Korean fine dining, while Sushi Kuuya provides an intimate omakase experience.
Baannok Bangkok
>
Baannok Bangkok on Langsuan Road is one of my favorite places to enjoy Korat-style food. The restaurant, located on the second floor of Vivre Langsuan, serves dishes inspired by family recipes. I always recommend trying the Pad Mhee Korat with giant river prawns or the Kaeng Liang Kam Thale So, a spicy soup packed with herbs. The Korat sausage is another great choice, and their caramelized banana dessert with coconut espuma is a perfect way to end the meal.
The atmosphere feels welcoming, with a mix of modern and nostalgic decor. What makes Baannok Bangkok even more special is the owner’s friendliness; he often chats with guests and sometimes surprises everyone with opera singing! The restaurant is very popular, so it’s often busy. If you plan to visit, I suggest booking a table in advance to avoid waiting.

Shoutaian Tokyo Shabu Shabu
Shoutaian Tokyo Shabu Shabu is an upmarket Japanese restaurant at Vivre Langsuan, known for its premium meats and upmarket shabu shabu dining in a beautiful decor. The quality of the meat is excellent, and while prices are on the higher side, the overall experience makes it worth it, especially if you enjoy well-marbled cuts.
Each guest in the main dining room gets their own personal shabu pot, which means you can take your time and enjoy the meal at your own pace. If you prefer a more traditional shared experience, there are a few private rooms with central hot pots and a more classic group setup.
Service is attentive and friendly without being too formal. It’s not a big restaurant and it’s popular, so booking ahead is a good idea. If you’re around Langsuan and in the mood for quality Japanese hot pot, this is a great pick.
