A Small Reggae Bar over Kata Noi Beach

Black Pearl Art & Bar is one of those places you wouldnโ€™t find unless someone told you about it. We saw it while riding along the scenic road above Kata Noi Beachโ€”the same road where people stop for sunset drinks at After Beach Bar, Baan Chom View, or The Sundeck. But this one sits quietly on the inland side of the road, almost invisible unless youโ€™re really looking.

Itโ€™s a small bamboo and wood bar with handmade furniture, a patch of fake grass, those colourful Thai mats, and sea-facing platforms where you can just sit, sip a beer, and chill. It feels like Phuket 20 years agoโ€”before big beach clubs and rooftop bars took over.

What makes this place really stand out is the atmosphere. Itโ€™s relaxed, very local, and full of personality. Reggae music plays in the background, and the bartender, with his huge dreadlocks and calm smile, gives the place its soul. Everything is recycled, handmade, or improvised. Itโ€™s not fancy, but itโ€™s got character.

The view is still beautiful, even if itโ€™s not as high up or wide as the places across the road. You can see the ocean and the sun dipping down behind the trees. And best of all, the prices are low:

Soft drinks start at just 20 THB for water, 50 THB for soda or tonic, and 60 THB for fruit juice. A fresh coconut is 80 THB.
Beers go from 70 THB (Chang) to 90 THB (Singha), and Thai rums like Sang Som, Hong Thong, or Mekhong are all 120 THB.

We ended up staying longer than planned, just enjoying the breeze, the view, and the music. If you want to step back into the old Phuket for an hour or two, this little place is worth finding.
