Bangkok’s riverside often feels out of reach for budget-conscious travellers, but it doesn’t have to be. Over the years, we’ve stayed in quite a few hotels along the Chao Phraya, and some of them turned out to be surprisingly affordable. They might not have grand lobbies or fancy services, but the views and the location make up for it.
Most of these hotels are either right on the river or just a short walk away. They’re close to popular spots like Wat Pho, the Grand Palace, or the local markets around Tha Tien and Wang Lang. Some are small and quiet, others have a bit more energy, but all of them offer a nice way to enjoy Bangkok without spending too much.
Some are small and charming, while others are part of larger properties with rooftop bars or pools. These hotels are well located and reasonably priced. All have been selected because they offer a pleasant riverside experience without going over budget.
